You don’t need kids or zol to have an excuse to watch and enjoy befokte cartoons. Most of us grew up with cartoons and those who didn’t, grew up to be weird-ass adults. I promise you this: that straight faced “friend” or family member with fokol sense of humor – not a single cartoon was watched as a kid! Eventually all good things come to an end and unfortunately that also rings true for the December holiday if you go by the Gauteng terms calendar. Schools start again next week Wednesday which means your last proper day of holiday would be Monday. Tuesday is a write-off, because you use it to stress and prepare for whatever the 2022 shit show has dished up for us.
If you have kids it could be fun to enjoy cartoons with them. It make for some good bonding on their level. Even if you don’t have kids, charge your batteries for the year ahead because cartoons can be energizing and a lot fun. You can just switch off and have a chuckle. An episode of The Powerpuff Girls might just give you an idea of how to deal with that one poes at work. On the other hand. some older cartoons might bring back lekker memories from the past. Studies have also shown that adults watching cartoons have fewer stress-related diseases. That stupid saying ‘laughter is the best medicine’ isn’t bullshit, because your brain produces endorphins when you laugh.
Below you’ll find a list of 8 kief cartoons to klap over the last weekend of the school holiday. The majority of them won’t be available after the end of January (licensing agreements don’t last forever) and I’ve also included the age restrictions on them. Spoiler alert – every single cartoon is listed with PG/V (parental guidance/violence) because when Jerry poeses Tom over the head with a wooden mallet, it is considered violent. But I’m sure your kids are used to much worse, playing Fortnite, Warzone or what-waht learning all the Afrikaans swearwords from unemployed ooms still living with their parents. Rather be worried about that kak…
The Loud House
In the fictional town of Royal Woods in Michigan, Lincoln Loud is the only laitie and middle child in a family of eleven children. He has ten sisters with distinctive personalities and Lincoln often encounters problems as a result of his fokken huge family. His best tjommie Clyde helps him sort out all his kak. they communicate via walkie-talkie when he is not around. Lincoln normally explains his issues to the audience by breaking the fourth wall and speaking to the viewers. The series is based on Creator Chris Savino’s own childhood in a large family. Originally they were going to be rabbits, but the executive said to make them human so they can be relatable.

Adventure Time (last chance 31 Jan)
Follow the adventures of Finn, a 12-year-old laitie adoptive brother Jake, who happens to be a wise 28-year-old dog with the ability to change shape and size at will. They live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo and interact with some strange Fokkers. Apparently Jake’s personality is based off of Bill Murray’s character Trippier Harrison from Meatballs. This is the one that the zolrokers will watch most likely! In every episode, three appears for one shot per episode, so try and not miss this running gag/easter egg.

Regular Show (last chance unti 31 Jan)
If you like Adventure Time, you’re going to love this show (I’m looking in the direction of the zolrookers again). Mordecai and Rigby get up to all kinds of nonsense as they try to avoid doing any real work, much to the annoyance of their boss Benson. It basically boils down to the daily surreal adventures of a blue jay and raccoon duo that attempt to deal with their mundane jobs as groundskeepers at the local park. Originally, the show was to be called Normal Show and the characters would work at a zoo where the animals would be humans. This show is known for using licensed music which is unusual for any cartoon. The songs used are usually 80s music which series creator J.G. Quintel grew up listening to.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
You know the drill – Four ninja turtles (Leo, Donnie, Raph and Mikey) mutated by a mysterious alien substance, must rise up out of the sewers and defend New York City against evil forces from both the past and present. They have been trained in the art of ninjutsu by their rat sensei, Master Splinter. The pose the okes gooi at the end of the title sequence is identical to the cover of the original comic book.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
This is basically exactly the same as the above, but different in terms of animation style. Some more useless info – for the first time, the Turtles are each of a different species rather than being blood-brothers of the same species: Raphael is a snapping turtle; Leonardo is a red-eared slider turtle; Donatello is a softshell turtle; Micheangelo is a box turtle. Apparently the old 80s fantasy movie, Big Trouble in Little China was a huge inspiration for this iteration. Now I need to find that movie again…

The Powerpuff Girls (last chance 31 Jan)
Originally called Whoopass Stew! the name changed to The Powerpuff Girls when adult audiences disapproved of children hearing profanity. Sugar, spice and everything nice – and a little dose of Chemical X – created the powerful trio of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Sure, they are adorable, but you don’t want to mess with these super-powered little girls who are constantly saving the world (or at least the city of Townsville) from monsters, would-be conquerors and a few other gross things.

Looney Tunes Cartoons (last chance 31 Jan)
This show needs no introduction – a compilation of the misadventures of the various classic Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and more.

The Tom and Jerry Show (last chance 31 Jan)
Ditto Tom and Jerry. As with Looney Tunes, you grew up following the endless rivalry between the world’s best known cat and mouse. Well, it heats up in an all-new adventure, be it at home, at a witch’s cabin or in space.
