Jirre there is a lot of sport to watch on TV this weekend? Just for fun, have you ever looked at the SuperSport calendar? I know my tjommie Hannes will watch all of the WWE matches, there is some rugby, golf, cycling, MMA fights, a whole bunch of cricket games, and as per usual – don’t even get me started on the football. However, I will be glued to the TV for the American Formula 1! Is this the weekend Verstappen will pass Hamilton? What about Perez, my main man? And Team Papaya? Fokkit, I am already getting super nervous for tomorrow and Sunday. There will hardly be any space left to stream anything else. Or will there? Let’s make some space for space. Here is a list of four scifi series which has to to with space. Ok, make that three – one has to do with the apocalypse but it might as well play off in space. The apocalypse is always Sci-Fi as fuck!
NeXt
NeXt (please not the big X in the spelling) is a propulsive thriller about the emergence of a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence that combines pulse-pounding action with a layered examination of how technology is invading our lives and transforming us in ways we don’t yet understand. Careful, your iPhone is going to fuck you one of these days! Interestingly, The AI assistant Iliza, is a spoof of the AI assistant Alexa.
From the peanut gallery:
“Amish people: laughing from farmhouse” – that is actually fucking hilarious!
Revelations
From what I can deduce from online banter, this series is fokken hard to get hold of. so I am going to klap this over the weekend before it disappears. Bill Pullman stars as a scientist faced with the toughest personal, professional and philosophical challenges of his life. Dr. Richard Massey is searching for reasonable explanations to explain signs that seem to indicate the apocalyptic end as foretold in Scriptures is in motion. To save humanity, Massey will have to let go of scientific facts and embrace faith. His first step in his quest to conquer the impending evil is to align himself with a nun (Natascha McElhone) whose devout beliefs are unshakeable. Despite many obstacles, including their own fears and doubts, the two remain determined to prove that Man can regain control of fate. Time is literally running out in their thrilling, fast-paced race around the globe to thwart Armageddo… and restore hope. Fok, I 100% klapping this on Sunday!
AVenue 5
My very first thought was that this was going to be House in Space! The troubled crew of Avenue 5, a space cruise ship filled with spoiled, rich, snotty space tourists, must try and keep everyone calm after their ship gets thrown off course into space and ends up needing three years to return to Earth. Get this – parts of episode 1 play as scenes lifted straight out of The Love Boat, The Poseidon Adventure, and Star Trek:Voyager.
From the peanut gallery:
Hugh Laurie: “So what do you want me to do?”
Director: “Just be space House”
Resident Alien
This is by far my most favourite series of 2021! I enjoyed this even more than Squid Game. You absolutely HAVE to watch this! A crash-landed alien named Harry who takes on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor and slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth. The sheriff’s deputy, Liv was only supposed to have a small recurring character, but Elizabeth Bowen had such an impact on Corey Reynolds (Sheriff Mike) that they expanded her role. When you watch it, you will know exactly what I mean. After the alien, she is my second favourite character!
From the peanut gallery:
“Finally someone gave Alan Tudyk his own show! Can’t wait!”

#10. 7 erotic adult series you’re not watching … yet Someone wise once said (it could have been Damian Robinson, but hey, you know what the internet is like) that sex is “like oxygen: it’s not that a big a deal unless you’re not getting any”. There’s no arguing with that; they are equally important. Then there are those who say (insert – so to speak – something of your choice here) is “better than sex”. |
