Christian Visser seems like a moerse versatile and interesting cat. At only 28 years of age, she has already done a lot more than your run-of-the-mill actor. She has for instance received 3 years of classical voice training under Koba Wicomb which already sets her apart, dances like a mofo and has a very successful musical career alongside her acting as well. I think we need to interview Christia Visser at some point and get to know her better, but until then, here is a list of at least 9 lekker movies and series she landed roles in:
MODEL
Model is a 10 part series reality show vibe that delves into the world of the fashion industry featuring talented models and wild cards from around South Africa. They all audition in this year’s competition to try and cement their place in the model mansion.Die Boekklub
Tom Niemandt takes an unexpected trip to the Karoo and meets an eclectic group of people who change his life forever. Moerse lekker brand-new Afrikaans series which got a fokken high rating of 9.0 on IMDB.
Girl from Nowhere
This is a very simple drama with only three actors set in Cape Town. A couple are headed to their mountain getaway, when they pick up a young woman hitchhiker, Liza, who carries a gun and may or may not be the devil herself. I haven’t seen this myself and there are many mixed reviews out on this movie, so I will decide for myself. It sounds interesting enough.
Tess
Tough subject matter in this drama. Tess (Christia Visser) is a sex worker and to survive on the street, she does what sex workers – she sells her body and and does dugs. Then she falls pregnant and realises that she somehow has to find a way to escape all this kak but her past fucks with her plans won’t let her go that easily.
The Recce
Abandoned by his superiors and wrongfully declared “killed in action” in 1981, Henk Viljoen has his mental and physical abilities pushed to their limits as he tries to escape the Angolan war zone and head back home. It is a moerse race for survival!
Alison
This is a really fokken hectic story. Alison is raped and then stabbed over 60 times. She is disemboweled and left for dead on the outskirts of a nature reserve but she survived and turned her tragedy into triumph. This actually happened for real and now she takes her message of hope everywhere it’s needed in this documentary. It is not an easy doccie to process but we all need to watch it. It might one day help save someone close to you or even yourself.
Die Bok
In this Silwerskerm short film, Christia is in the leading role of a pregnant Susan who’s much older husband is increasingly absent from her life. The loneliness of life on the warm is overwhelming here and a stray Billy goat is closing in on her prized rose garden, adding to her stress. This is obviously a drama, packed into 23 minutes.
