Waddy Jones (Ninja from Die Antwoord) was accused by an up-and-coming Australian rapper, Zheani Sparkes, of having “trafficked” her to South Africa, intoxicated her, raped her and that there were all sorts of weird rituals involved. This took place more or less six years ago. 
Before we go any further, let’s deal with the usual conspiracy theorists who play the victim blaming card:

“The timing is suspect because she’s trying to launch her rap career. Why wait six years ?? !! I smell a rat !!?”

Or let’s take an example of an actual fan’s comment earlier today:

“Everyone’s so quick to judge.🙄 Any “victim” that stays in touch with their “abuser” even when they’re living in 2 different countries & then decides a year or so later to work for them & agree to see them every day has a very sketchy story. No victim would do that. Also, trying to build up a career while simultaneously trying to tear down another’s is sketchy shit too & after seeking them out & working for them! (them being Die Antwoord) Use some fucking logic here, people!”

Here is my non-expert but common sense answer to these people:

1) These are the type of people who usually don’t finish reading even a quarter of articles, posts and posts. The fan’s comment is a clear example of this – someone who is poorly armed with the facts, if any or has taken in only 5% of the story somewhere along the line. They are steered by their blind support ofthe artist.

2) They are thus unable to process horrible allegation involving their idols objectively and have made up their minds. 

3) Victims of sexual abuse and rape in most cases take a fucking long time before reporting it to the authorities or coming out with it in public or even telling a close confidant such as a good friend or family member about it. In most cases they don’t even speak up at all. Sexual harassment, sexual abuse and rape are a fucking traumatic experiences.

In short – victims do not like to talk about rape, because it is uncomfortable and all sorts of shit stigmas are attached to it. In the majority of cases, the victims also feel as if it was their fault, which makes everything even complicated. And in most cases, they’re also firmly convinced that no one will ever believe them, so why the fuck bother? And those who never have a voice? They try to live with it without making any waves. Others cannot take it and commit suicide. How many secrets were taken to the grave? Victim blaming is a horrible thing.

That’s why we have to deal with fucking news headlines like:

Jennifer Ferguson was raped more than 25 years ago by a person in a position of power, Danny Jordaan. Shortly after she came out with the story, she had to walk around with a dark cloud and guilt because she did not speak out at the time when it happened: “Disclosure after 24 years. I was probably not the only woman raped by this man. I am deeply sorry that I was unable to report it when it happened and I apologise from my heart to any woman or young girl that may have suffered abuse by this man as a result of my colluding in the conspiracy of silence”.

Bob Hewitt was also in a position of power. As a tennis coach, children looked up to him as a role model. He rewarded some of them by raping them. That’s more than 30 years ago. The piece of shit was sent to jail for 6 years (!!!!!) in 2016 after he was convicted of raping two young women all those years ago. I guarantee you raped met that 2 people over 30 years. It was that he only got caught and convicted for 2.

So far, nothing has happened to Danny Jordaan: “Questions have been raised about the ANC’s seriousness about dealing with accusations of sexual assault leveled against its members after Zizi Kodwa and Danny Jordan – both of whom have been accused of rape – joined President Cyril Ramaphosa on the campaign trail.”

It is power & politics at play. The entire Harvey Weinstein-fuck up for the wheels moving in Hollywood with the #metoo-movement and thank god, it unleashed a chain reaction on an international level. internasionale vlak. That fucking fuck’s court case kicks off in two months, but the man has some of the most expensive lawyers on earth, so it could become a protracted story, because money talks poes hard. Weinstein has a net worth of about $ 50m. R Kelly on the other hand sits with a net worth of three times as much at $ 150m. He can afford three times as many laywers as Weinstein.

This brings us to Ninja from Die Antwoord. Waddy and Anri’s net worth sits at around $ 10m each and with that kind of money, one can very easily try to scare or silence anyone with fancy and expensive New York lawyers. Especially if one is guilty. Because if you did fokol wrong, you do not have to overreact to every conceivable social media platform to try to discredit your accuser. An accuser that no one would have known about, was it not for Die Antwoord itself (and more specifically Yo-Landi) that dragged her to the spotlight:

Zheani’s evidence comes in the form of screen grabs (see at the bottom of this article). There are over 70 of them, so you can see for yourself how the communication went between her and Waddy/Ninja. This evidence was put out there by her after she received the letter/threat from Die Antwoord’s fancy lawyers (nothing has heppened to Zheani so far). Die Antwoord then got quiet and went on with their lives as if nothing was bothering them, but at the same time tried their best to have Zheani’s albums removed from all streaming networks as well as successfully temporarily getting her Instagram account banned. They’re too stupid to do it themselves, so their New York lawyers were probably paid for it. Meanwhile, they also started deleting and deactivating fans’ comments on their social posts. However, the Interweb is, as they say, forever.

It’s also clear that Die Antwoord is starting to freak out a bit about the whole story. Well, Ninja at least. For Yo-Landi, it’s a massive joke as we can see from this video that was posted on Instagram this morning and will probably be removed again before the end of the day. We downloaded the video:

Fortunately, a YouTuber named Edwins Generation followed this story closely from the beginning and documented and explained it very thoroughly. He also hired someone to analyze Ninja’s body language. Decide for yourself whether you agree with her analysis. You will find the video below, just before all the screen grabs. 

What Edwins and others do not address very well in the video and elsewhere are the specific allegations by Zheanie. The whole “I got trafficked to Africa” story sounds outrageous and made up, especially since she went to visit South Africa of her own free will for about 8 days – an argument that repeatedly pops up in social media tiffs. I think a lot of people might confuse “trafficked” with “kidnapped” while overlooking the whole “sexual grooming” aspect. Because the story unfolded over a long period of time, Zheani may have just misrepresented herself. It’s something terrible that happened to her and she may not have known what to call it. She was also naive and may not have been aware that something like “sexual grooming” is a reality. However, it does not make much difference to what physically happened to her. It does not diminish her ordeal at all. 

The second big issue no one talks about and just pulls a weird WTF face is where she says “I lay catatonic and he” came to “speaking in a baby voice asking me” Zheani what happened, I do not remember? “
Sure, they took drugs together, but at what point was it date rape (which is by no means ‘rape lite’, by the fucking way) because there was a slight degree of consent (motivated by fear)? The fact that she put “came to” in quotes speaks volumes. This suggests that Ninja was waiting for the right moment to pretend he was “out of it” and woke up from a drug haze and pretended he did not know a fuck what happened. The fucking chatter in a baby voice just makes it so much worse and creepy. Grasping at straws over there, Ninja.

Then there is specific wording of Waddy’s correspondence in the texts to Zheani, which everyone ignores for some or other reason – the language he uses, points to rape. Or rape fantasies at the very least:
“fuck u slow in yor throat till u cant focus on me anymore”
“u probly gonna slide it deep i2 yor arse with vaseline wen u drunk 1nite”

The word “rape” actually gets used:
“im gonna hav 2 rape it 1day tho. wen u drunk, with lots of lube. and slow gangsta rap music.”
“specially wen u gettin raped in da butt to gangste rap music”

There is a massive shit storm on the way for Die Antwoord…
