Die Antwoord – is it art or was there a real stabbing?

In Die Antwoord, Snotstories deur griffin15 Eiertjies

Unfortunately we have to publish another Die Antwoord article because shit just keeps falling out of that closet that they are trying to barricade. Their breadcrumb trail game is weak. As always, if you only rocked up to this shit show now, please go familiarize yourself with the unfolding events in the series of articles over here.

In the previous article I aired my opinion that Ninja & Yo-Landi adopted destitute children (Tokkie & Meisie) from a broken home as fashion accessories to fit in with their “zef” image. They also used these kids (biological brother and sister) to act in their latest music video, “Don’t Take me 4 a Poes” (don’t take me for a cunt) wherein Tokkie gets stabbed by another kid (Jemile). Not surprisingly there were still die hard fans defending Die Antwoord’s video, as well as the belief that the adopted kids were better off because Die Antwoord gave them a better life. The mind boggles…

I also mentioned that Ninja likes to blur the lines between reality and their art. This is super important and we will get back to it in a bit. First, you need to watch Edwin Costa’s unpacking of recent events and Die Antwoord’s pathetic baiting efforts, trying to convince their fan base that all is good in the hood and that they are dealing with a serious case of clout chasers and fame seekers. Edwin has been doing a very thorough job so far, putting things into perspective:

From one of Yo-Landi’s clips (posted to Instagram) in Edwin’s video above, you will see Yo-Landi asking her friend Flash, if she is OK and “what about all the rape and torture?” again making a joke of the whole Zheani situation. Right next to Flash, Yo-Landi’s other friend, Kim Possible also joins in on the laughter. Flash also says “I’m so tortured in my Gucci. My new Gucci robe.”

Now, I’m no rocket surgeon, but I am going to take a wild guess that Flash is in a relationship with G Boy and that Jemile is his son and that they all met Die Antwoord through Yo-landi’s longtime friend, Kim Posibill. Zef Days Of Out Lives vibes. I might be 100% wrong, but I say this because Die Antwoord likes to create and keep their own little family together. And they build up their little family with broken, troubled people with complicated pasts, because Ninja and Yo-Landi sit with all the Gucci swag and the money and the house in Joburg and the overseas trips and the pad in Cape Town. And once you cross them, they simply take all that shit away and you’re that broken, desperate person, once again. Like a housewife who’s husband over the years never allowed her to study, have friends or build a career and has no will made out to her in case he dies. The “I eventually got out from under Die Antwoord”-stories will surface at some point.

Unfortunately we first have to get back to this terribly written song but well-shot and edited video of Die Antwoord (they really did a stellar job on the visuals). It features G Boy (who’s, career will probably be tanked by Die Antwoord before it takes off) and almost all of the members of their little broken family:  Ninja, G Boy, Jemile, Tokkie, Flash and Meisie, Directed by Yo-Landi (which probably means Ninja was taking over and controlling it most of the time). Flash (who is actually a back-up dancer for Die Antwoord) is credited with doing hair for the production. It might also refer to her braiding Meisie’s hair in the video towards the end. Kim Posibill isn’t credited in this video but from what I’ve come to know recently, she get’s all the credit for finding and hiring real life gangsters from the Cape Flats as Die Antwoord’s crew, protection  and circus-like entourage. Ironically, Ninja then hires security to protect him from the hired gangsters. But that’s probably run-of-the-mill Buddhist-gangster-vegan-warlock-rapper behavior, I guess…

Who is missing from the family and the video? Let’s see… Oh, yeah. Tokkie’s brother older brother, Drie (Ardrie). We were wondering about him a few articles back…

A little update then – Apparently he was also living in the Joburg house for a bit, but then he got stabbed in April of 2017. By none other than…

… drumroll…

…his younger brother, Tokkie! Now I am guessing that Tokkie’s brother, Drie, tried to steal his chain or his phone or simply just called him a poes. Kind of like Tokkie stole Jamile’s chain in the Don’t Take me 4 a Poes video. And that brings us back to Die Antwoord’s blurring of their “art” with reality: Ninja is known for being accused of appropriating culture and stealing or borrowing from people’s life stories to use in their music. It is all over the interweb. You don’t have to search far and wide. Now he has taken this horrible stabbing incident which involves Tokkie (a minor) in their own house in Johannesburg and turned it into money. It simply can’t just be a coincidence, can it? I suppose to the real staunch Die Antwoord fan it is the biggest coincidence ever. According to a second source who independently (via a voice note to me) confirmed the story from the first source, it was a pretty hectic mess and Drie had to be taken to hospital. How many times was he stabbed? Will the hospital report match up with the visuals of the music video?

But that’s not even the the worst part. Because of this stabbing incident, Tokkie was dropped off  back in his original, troubled and poor neighborhood of Fietas. The place where he was adopted from. Or as the die hard fans believe – the shitty life he was heroically rescued from by Ninja & Y0-Landi. He was left there for a while. Go look at the Instagram or social media gaps to see for how long he was gone from their lives. Let me fill you in on something if it isn’t glaringly obvious already: children aren’t broken toys which you can just take back to the fucking charity shop and children aren’t dogs which you can just take back to the fucking shelter because of bad behavior. But hey, if the kids are adopted and you are Ninja and Yo-Landi, those rules don’t apply to you, it seems. It is not a crime to be a cunt or a shitty person, but in the case of being a shitty person or a cunt to an adopted child, the South African law might have something different to say. Please tell me if you find something to the contrary inside the South African Children’s Act 38 of 2005

So let’s once again saddle up that old boring horse of WHERE IS ALL YOUR PROOF AND WHY DON’T YOU GO THE POLICE?

  1. The stabbing incident was independently confirmed by two completely different sources from two different towns. It is their individual decisions to come forward in their own time if they choose to do so. Understandably they are either emotionally hurt, very scared,  threatened, embarrassed or simply done with it all and not interested to dig up old shit – I won’t even ask them which one it is. In both people’s cases, they have much more to tell from their interactions with Die Antwoord and again, how much they are willing to share and with whom is entirely up to them. Maybe they aren’t afraid to come forward at all. Maybe they are still working through their own timelines and putting it together to make sense of it? I’m here to give them a platform if they decide to use it.
  2. Zheani was the first person to take a step forward and those who have followed her story may have seen the kind of backlash she had to endure. It is still messy. People are however, slowly coming forward in private but the big unspoken question is, “who is going to come forward next?”
It is as if a long row of people are sitting next to each other and nervously looking from left to right to see who is going to get up first so they can follow. In no way am I going to push anyone in a direction. It has to be 100% willingly and on their own terms.
  3. Anyone who has suffered abuse needs to go the authorities themselves. As far as I know, no-one can open a case on your behalf. I did speak to people at www.wmaca.org
and that was the advice they have given me and you can call these numbers and I encourage anyone affected to find the courage to do so:
    National Prosecuting Authority 012 845 6000
    SAPS FCS Head Office: 012 393 2363
    Dept of Justice: 012 315 1111
  4. If Tokkie’s brother, Drie,  didn’t lay a charge on the evening of the stabbing, there is obviously no case at the Police station. There were however, eyewitnesses on the evening. Whether they come forward will be their business. And I am pretty sure hospitals are supposed to keep records of their emergency rooms.
  5. No, I am not putting the voice notes up. it was given to me in confidence.
  6. These things take time.

In Ninja’s own words:

aaah man…
dont worry…
u wont b sorry for long…
patience
patience like the stalker

Hi there. South African White Female here … I just wanted to say I find your posts very interesting, and have also been following the story with @secret artist and Edwins Generation. I had to just write a quick note here to highlight a few issues I have with the popularity of DA and how people are coming to their defense. The point I wanted to make is: There is a mayor difference between being an artist, creating a character (ie. Marilyn Manson style) and extorting a certain image to win over fans. Most particularly, this “Afrikaans, dodgy, gangsta, poor white” angle they have adopted, which is clear from their music videos, content etc. It irks me to say the least, considering that they have publicly said they are vegan buddhists and have lived in neighborhoods such as Parkhurst and Constantia (I stand corrected here, but some upper-class Capetownian city) which is SO FAR removed from this persona they created and that people have fell for, ergo garnering support during this drama. I feel they are extorting people (such as their children, the residents from that poor town etc) to their benefit. I have always thought they seemed “fake”, as if they are something and some people completely different to what they convey. Even just looking at their real names, the fake British accent the guy adopted in his child’s Instagram videos, the girl’s tattoo-less, lithe, exercised body speaks nothing toward suffering, being poor, being “gangsta” etc… It all reeks of illusion, and in a nightmare kind of way. I honestly believe they are nothing what they pretend to be, but not in a good way. Bizzaro. Anyway, that’s just my 2c.

You can open a case on behalf of a child you suspect is being abused. It is your legal obligation to report.
But be certain. The police don’t respond to speculation and hearsay.
Call Women And Men Against Child Abuse if you are unsure: 011 789 8815

Also if you have a few £ or $ to donate… Yumsaying?

So this is a gossip piece? Because without all of these things that you say exist, which all of them combined don’t amount to anything let alone be considered as evidence, this story sounds like just that…a story. It’s obvious your personal dislike for DA. Sad that it clouds your journalistic ability. Take an impartial look at your writing. Would you be do lax if it were about a subject you weren’t so personally involved?

Do you contact every newspaper about every news article and ask them for evidence? In this case, there are photos of Drie at the hospital after the stabbing and there are hospital reports. If and when I do receive it, it will be published here. There is also a video of Meisie at the age of 12 riding on the bonnet of a car in a street in Johannesburg while Die Antwoord were touring overseas. These kids were left in Johannesburg while the parents were touring overseas – a violation of the adoption agreement. If I publish that video, your reaction would be “kids will be kids”. If I publish photos of a bloody Drie at casualties you will reply with “how do we have proof that is even him?”. I also have hours of audio interviews with a bunch of people who were close to them. If I publish those, your reaction would be “These people are lying. Where is the proof?” You didn’t read the article properly because I clearly stated that it is up to those people to decide if and then they want to publicly come forward.

You are correct – there is an intense personal dislike for Die Antwoord recently because of the way they behave and the way they treat people, especially their adopted kids. They are predators. Similarly I have a personal dislike for Donald Trump for the way he behaves, but you probably think he is a nice guy. Hell, you probably even voted for the old cunt, seeing that you’re from Texas. #MAGA

Here is the thing – I can admit my dislike for them because I have spent a lot of time with them and a lot of behavior patterns became clearer. I also listen to all sides and look at proof from all sides. You on the other hand, are a fan blindly standing up for someone you have never even met in your life. You’re unable to think for yourself. Die Antwoord’s reaction to everything that transpired so far has been nothing but reprehensible.

There is nothing that clouds my journalistic ability because I am not a journalist. I don’t know whatever gave you that idea?

The proof of some of the allegations will eventually come out. Not all, because not everyone wants their story out there. But if you so desperately want something for now to chew on, I will give you one piece of evidence: Your IP address is 172.58.106.15 which means you’re from Weatherford, Texas. I had to look it up because halfway through your first sentence I thought “Oh, it sounds like another clueless American fan about to spew some shit…”

  5. Marco

There is one person missing in all the stories, DJ Hitek, god or whatever moniker he goes by, Jason De Nobrega. How does he fit in to all this mess?

  6. Author
    griffin

His name is Justin de Nobrega and that is a very good question. We will probably get to that at some stage as well.

  7. spykermann

You assume a lit kf shit. Did ninja somehow finger your bum when you crawled out yo mommas pie? Why all the butt hurt articles?

Oh look, there is one! We’ve found the last remaining Die Antwoord fan in South Africa.

  9. Some

The second I found out that Watkin Tudor Jones is an Ayn Rand fan, I basically understood that DA isn’t some clever art project dealing with identity: they’re just a thievish, right wing pair of unscrupulous and ambitious cunts doing the Cape Flats whose closest contact with the numbers gangs was that documentary on Pollsmoor in about 2001. If anyone from outside South Africa actually understood the references and the cultures they’ve tiefed for profit, these awful twats would have been cancelled years ago. With my hand on my heart I’d put cash on it that ‘16’ isn’t even his daughter’s name, he just wanted digits tattooed on his face. I simply don’t find it credible. I pity everyone in the orbit of this manipulative life stunt, I can’t believe he’s got away with it for this long, and at this stage I’m only continuing to watch because I’m fascinated to see the consequences.

  10. Judith

I wish I had footage of Watkin jumping off stage to kiss me in the front row of a show, without my consent, in front of my boyfriend who had JUST DMed him asking if he could propose to me on stage at that very show (a message watkin saw and ignored). Watkin and I used to talk on IG (i know he was talking to probably hundreds of other young girls at the time) and he knew who I was…who my boyfriend was…I made him a custom vest he wore on stage once, and stuffed animals he kept. After that, yolandi spit on me and it took me years to understand that what he did was not consensual, not okay, and so in line with all of the things Zheani experienced. I am friends with another young woman who used to be close with Watkin, who they spent time with in the US a few years back, who they dropped tokkie off with and left her to watch him while they went out. Just an irresponsible, predatory, bad man. Yolandi was a victim, too. And now she is victimizing others, as many victims of abuse end up doing. Such a sad and frustrating situation.

  11. Sean Van-de Kamp

I want someone to hear me out on something please about Die Antwoord. With the recent expose’ they have received via Zheani and Ben and YouTubers etc. It’s caused me to revisit this group but seeing them through a different lens. I’ve Watched all MaxNormal (pre Die Antwoord) music videos interviews. And I am convinced these two, Watkin & Anri have somehow gotten stuck and become their alter egos Ninja & YoLandi. They make heavy use of “Chaos Magick” Imagery, and all that occultist garbage. I think Ninja has some strange complex and has taken too many psychedelic drugs during the rise of DA that he somehow rewired his persona, same goes for YoLand. There is an interview on YouTube of her in MaxNormal way before DA and she was totally gone on some Molly during the whole video. eyes all crazy and shit.

I have spoken to two people who can corroborate your experience and I might even be able to get hold of footage. Please get in contact and give me the details – show, date, venue etc.
